Jonas Raab
Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellow in Philosophy
Hi, this is the website of Jonas Raab. I'm currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in philosophy at the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy (MCMP) of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) with a project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) (until August 2027).
Prior to my move to Munich, I was an IRC Postdoctoral Fellow in philosophy at Trinity College Dublin, and before that I did a PhD in philosophy at the University of Manchester (2017-2021), after receiving a Master of Arts in Logic and Philosophy of Science from the MCMP (2015-2017) and a Magister Artium in Philosophy, Mathematics, and Statistics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (2007-2014).
I work on several topics within mainly theoretical philosophy. Currently, my main topics fall within metametaphysics, philosophy of science, philosophy of logic, and the history of analytic philosophy. In particular, I'm working on ontological commitment, explication, and modelling. I have also interests in philosophical methods (e.g., progess in philosophy, intuitions), ancient philosophy (in particular Aristotle and late Plato), formal philosophy of science (e.g., Dutch books, problem of old evidence), and logic (e.g., Quantified Argument Calculus). You can read about my research here, see my publications here, and my CV here.
