Philosophical Analysis
(last updated: April 15, 2023)
Summary
The course considers the methodology of analytic philosophy in form of philosophical analysis. The course divides roughly into two parts. During the first part, we consider the beginnings of analytic philosophy and its analytic method, consider problems for analysis, and discuss developments of it in form of explication and conceptual engineering. In the second part, we consider particular analyses of primarily modalities, and how these are used to analyse further phenomena such as causation.
